Augmented Reality marketing can bring history to life

Within the tourism industry, there is huge potential for using Augmented Reality marketing to tell visual stories. AR is particularly suited to attractions focused on history. The past can become much more dynamic and interactive via AR marketing.

Digi2Market collaborated with Ilomantsi Tourism Association in Finland to add digital content to Öykkösenvaara Memorial. Karelia UAS media production students created an AR soldier. This virtual soldier talks of the events of the Second World War, which took place at Illomantsi.

The AR experience is accessed via scanning a QR code on the memorial.

Using virtual reality to attract new customers

You may have heard of VR but how much do you know about using virtual reality to attract new customers to your business? Digi2market worked with Karelia University of Applied Sciences to create a virtual tour for Kontiolahti Golf Oy, in Finland.

The golf club is seeking to attract younger members, as the average age of a player continues to rise. Older players are quitting more often than younger players starting.

Karelia UAS students have created a virtual tour that customers can view via VR glasses and web browsers.

How to use Augmented Reality in the tourism industry

Do you know how to use Augmented Reality in the tourism industry? Where does an SME start? What are the possibilities? That’s where Dig2market comes in. Think 360° video is only for big or high tech businesses? Well maybe it’s time to think again…..

One of the greatest challenges for SMEs post Covid-19 is retaining and attracting customers. Many independent businesses benefit a lot from footfall. Large corporations are often better able to adapt to shipping goods from online orders.

360 degrees tours can help increase profits

Covid-19 has meant that many SMEs have lost footfall – but 360 degrees tours can help keep your business in profit.

With lockdowns and restrictions, as a business owner, you need to be thinking of how best to use digital marketing. Digi2Market supported Finnish wellness company Rantakylän Fysikaalinen Hoitolaitos (RFH) in creating a 360 degrees tour.

RFH offers physiotherapy and a gym. During covid-19 customers have been more concerned about hygiene. At times RFH had to close its doors.

Using 360s degrees tours – as a virtual tour – has enabled customers to see how RFH are keeping the premises as covid safe as possible. RFH have also launched an online shop and booking service.
