Immersive Tech Experts to Address EU Event

European experts in immersive tech like VR, AR and 360 video will address the Digi2market online conference on 26th & 27th January. The project promotes immersive tech to help SMEs reach bigger markets, and the conference offers insights on harnessing this tech.

The event is FREE and will broadcast from Ulster University’s Coleraine campus. The University is one of six European partners running the Digi2Market project.

Immersive Tech Experts Share Experience

Media expert at Ulster University, Dr Helen Jackson, says small businesses can get lots of tips from the speakers they have lined up. “Chief Technology Officer with RETiniZE, Jack Morrow, has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands. He’ll discuss his experience and the challenges and opportunities for business in delivering immersive solutions.”

“I’ll look at the businesses we have successfully collaborated with in Digi2Market,” says Dr Jackson, “and the costs associated with immersive technology development. And Tom Houston, Sentireal, will share his insights into developing sales and marketing, and business growth strategies for SMEs.”

Susan Talbot from the Immersive Technology Skillnet, will explore training and development opportunities in Immersive Tech for small businesses.

Immersive Tech Experts on Sustainability

Digi2Market programme co-ordinator, Sean O Coisdealbha of Údarás Na Gaeltachta says they will also explore how becoming ‘greener’ can boost business marketing effectiveness. “Several of our speakers will look at sustainability as a business issue. Our project to date has shown that using green business models can make a business more attractive to public sector clients, in particular.”

“Finnish outdoor adventure business CEO, Kimmo Turunen, will talk about sustainability practices in international outdoor event management. We’ll also hear from European expert Dr Lasse Okkonen from the Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Finland. He’ll explain how university and SMEs can collaborate successfully in environmental management.”

Immersive Tech Experts on Tourism

Áskell Heiðar Ásgeirsson, manager at Icelandic company 1238, will discuss the use of VR in the tourism and museum business. “1238 is an immersive exhibition that goes beyond the regular history museum”, says Seán. “It invites guests to ‘experience’ history in a super modern and artful interactive installation.”

Also from Iceland, Evelyn Ýr Kuhne, owner of tourism company Lýtingsstaðir, will share their experience of participating in the Digi2Market programme. Specifically, she’ll talk about developing and using 360° video to promote their business, and what they gained from it.
