SSNV is a regional association of municipalities in the north western part of Iceland and operates with reference to Article 97 of the Local Government Act no. 138/2011. The organization is a forum for the municipalities in the area to work together on common interests, service and collaboration. Issues that SSNV deals with include regional development, business development, education, transport, culture and the promotion of the North Western part of Iceland. SSNV offers advice in the field of business development, innovation and culture to individuals, companies and municipalities in the north western part of Iceland.
