A 25-year-old family company: “Environmental values are powerful in domestic and global marketing”

Genuine respect for environment in all company activities has helped Plasthill Ltd to expand its market worldwide. Environmental awareness is one of the key aspects for marketing of Kupilka, the main brand owned by the Finnish company, as they celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The most sold Kupilka products are ecological dishware, which have became so popular among Finnish people who love outdoor activities, that the marketing actions of Kupilka are mainly aimed at export activities.

In 2021 the family-owned company, who is currently partnering with Digi2Market in a virtual tour experience, is exporting to all the main markets in Asia and is also gaining more followers in Europe and United States.

“One of the very best things is that we managed to join efforts to promote exports to Japan already in the years preceding Business Joensuu. Scandinavian Outdoor Group has also proven to be an excellent forum. It is a community that represents more than 70 Scandinavian Outdoor brands around the world. We participate in appearances at trade fairs with the group, entrepreneur Arja Kaasinen said in a Business Joensuu news article.

The growth has been supported by investments in which Plasthill Ltd has received support from the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and local business development company, Business Joensuu.

You can read more from the story of Plasthill Ltd and their Kupilka-products in Business Joensuu website.

Glenballyeamonn Eggs

At Out There Eggs, we have been quietly providing our local community in the lush pastures of the Glens of Antrim with fresh, free range eggs since 1997.

Eggs are a natural food, so we do our best to respect and encourage the natural behaviour of the hens. That’s why we house our hens in a way that makes it easier for them to explore their environment, which we have made a bit more interesting with the help of the Woodland Trust. Over the last 18 months they have helped us to plant a wood of native trees where the hens have the space and shade to range and forage outside.

All this effort has paid off – we have been awarded a much coveted Gold Blas na hEireann, Great Taste Awards for 2016 and 2017and our RSPCA Freedom Food approval. Our farm is Lion approved and our packaging centre is SALSA approved.
